DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR
I’m going to
tell you a true story…
It happened to me two years ago on a Halloween night. I went
to my best friend’s house because her parents were out on holidays so we were
going to spend the night together and alone. It was about midnight and we were
listening to music and reading some magazines in her bedroom. Suddenly, we
began to hear strange noises outside the room. We stopped talking and listened.
They were footsteps, and they were coming slowly up the stairs.
“Do you think your parents have come back Ana?” I asked to my friend.
But she said
her parents were not supposed to come back until the next day.
The steps
were just approaching our room, so I ran over to the door and locked it.
Suddenly, everything was in silence again.
“Is there
anyone out there?” my friend asked nervously. There was no answer.
We were sure
there was somebody outside, but who could it be? CLING! Just then, we heard a
beep. It was an email that my friend had just received. She opened it. We
couldn’t see who the sender was, but I can tell you what the message was in
that e-mail: “WHATEVER HAPPENS, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR”.
“AAAAHHH!!!!” I couldn’t avoid shouting when I read those
words. My heart was beating very fast; I was about to have a panic attack! It wasn’t
a joke… there was someone out there, just behind the door.
Suddenly, we
heard a voice. It sounded like my friend’s mother.
“Please, open the door, Ana. There was a car
accident in the road and we had to come back.
Open the door sweetie”
We were in shock.
We didn’t know what to do.
“Come on Ana! Open the door!” It sounded like her father voice
now.
Anna went to
the door in order to open it but I stopped her. “Wait!!!” I shouted.
She turned
to me and said, “It’s my parents, Laura.
You heard their voices. I’m going to open the door.”
Thank you Laura!
